3 Steps for Improving How You Managing Your Virtual Team

In the past few months, I’ve spoken to a lot of people about the productivity of their team members working from home. Some have done OK. Others have struggled. Losing face-to-face contact caught them off guard and they haven’t come up with a good process to get them where they were before.
My team and I have been working virtually since 2010. When I started, I adapted a process I was using to manage my corporate team members using tools that were and still are free and easy-to-use. When I started, I longed for a whiteboard and a convenient spot where I could round up my team to go over progress. Today, this alternative works well with a team that’s spread across three continents.
This is part 1 of 3 lessons covering:
- The process I use managing it with a simple Google sheet.
- An adaptation of that same process using Asana: A free online project management tool.
- Management issues you MUST address whether you run an in-person or virtual team.
