Going to Prison Ain’t So Bad and It Might Help Your Business

I’m on my way to give a seminar on Online Marketing to the ladies at a local women’s prison. It’s part of my involvement with Leap for Ladies, an entrepreneurial training program that works with residents as they tradition out of prison life.
It’s very satisfying for me and it does a few things. First, it’s helping someone else in need. That for me is reason enough. Second, it gets me out of my own world which can be difficult when you’re uber busy running your own business. Sometimes it seems like this is all I do and think of.
Third and often forgotten is it can be used to promote your business and further your brand. People do business with people. They don’t do business with businesses. Humanizing the experience is a good thing. All things being equal, most people would prefer doing business with do gooders, but that’s NOT where the biggest value lies. It’s in the ability those activities have to get you noticed.
Studies show that people are bombarded with 300 to 700 marketing messages daily. Getting noticed with that kind of information overload is difficult. People may not open something I post that talks about what I do, but they might notice and actually watch or read something about the good I’m doing for the community or via not for profit involvement.
Let me tell your more about this.
